Job Description
Fondation EurActiv operates a trainee scheme in Brussels for young people providing graded learning in EU policies. Interns are allocated either to editorial, commercial or technical tasks, depending on availability and abilities/experience. These internships are for a minimum of six months and can be extended, in which case there are opportunities to serve in a different unit.
EurActiv publishes in 11 languages through its own and a network of franchise offices (Editorial Mission)
We are now looking for a full-time Translation Stagiaire (EN-FR)
Profile
French mother tongue
Very good command of English
University education: background in Translations (English- French), European affairs, politics or journalism Knowledge of/Interest in EU affairs
Frequent user of internet services and familiarity with MS Office
Proactive, open-minded, flexible, and team-player
Ability to work effectively in a multicultural and dynamic environment
Highly-motivated and able to face tight deadlines
Brussels experience (traineeship at EU institution or similar)
A good command of a third language (preferably German)
Responsibilities include
Translation of articles, headlines and abstracts from English into French
General office and administrative tasks
EurActiv Offers
Interesting tasks in a multicultural environment (team of 35 people, 13 nationalities)
Excellent opportunity to practice foreign language skills
Insight into EU politics Insight into the work of a Brussels based media
Experience with information technologies (website management, content management system, MS Office package etc.)
This internship will be for an initial period of six months. Regular coaching and evaluation will determine whether an extension for a further period is offered. A financial contribution is provided; favourable consideration will be given to applicants who are eligible for funding via Erasmus or other programmes.
